Description
This medicine is an antidepressant used to treat depression. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. This medicine works to help balance specific natural substances in the brain called neurotransmitters. When out of balance these substances are thought to be associated with the symptoms of depression.
Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine may come with a patient information leaflet. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine.
SWALLOW WHOLE. Do not crush or chew before swallowing. THIS MEDICINE MAY BE TAKEN WITH FOOD if it upsets your stomach. STORE THIS MEDICINE in a tightly-closed container at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), away from heat and light. CONTINUE TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE even if you feel better.
Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If you are taking 2 doses a day and it is less than 8 hours until your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Precautions
DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. SEVERAL WEEKS MAY PASS before your condition improves. Continue to use this medicine for the full time recommended by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor.
DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE of bupropion; doing so will increase your risk of having a seizure. Limit or avoid consumption of alcoholic beverages; alcohol can increase your risk of seizures. Chronic alcohol users who suddenly stop the intake of alcohol while taking this medicine may increase the risk of having seizures.
CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN CHILDREN OR ADOLESCENT PATIENTS because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine.
FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
