Omnicef (generic name: cefdinir; brand names include: Sefdin / Adcef) is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic that belongs to a group of medicines known as third generation cephalosporin antibiotics.
Omnicef is one of the highest-selling cephalosporin antibiotics in the United States.
Omnicef is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections including pneumonia, bronchitis, otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, and skin and skin structure infections.
