Minipress
Description
Minipress (generic name: prazosin; brand names: Prazopress / Vasoflex / Hypovase) belongs to a class of medications called alpha blockers.
Minipress is used for treating hypertension (high blood pressure).
Minipress can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines.
Minipress works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. This helps to lower blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Minipress exactly as directed.
Take Minipress by mouth with or without food. Minipress is usually taken two or three times daily or as directed by your doctor.
Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it.
If you miss a dose of Minipress, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Keep Minipress in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
Precautions
Before taking Minipress, tell your doctor if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have liver or kidney problems;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
